• inspiration came from african mask died young at 35 of an illness

• Owned her own studio so she can create what she wanted
• norma was forced to be clever because of economic troubles
• she talks about how its very important to feel good about yourself

The videos relate to the reading because the readings talked about the first three artist, Lawrence, Ringgold and Bearden so i already knew information before watching the videos.
 I feel like the reading was more helpful because it basically prepared me for the videos
