I selected the two videos Florence: Heart of the Renaissance and Cataclysm: The Black Death Visits Tuscany because the names caught my attention first so I decided to watch those.
Florence: Heart of the Renaissance:
The painting revived realism and emotions
The David sculpture is the first free standing male nude sculpture in a thousand years which is a classic
The original David is a center piece at Accademia Gallery which feels like a temple to humans (this piece is very realistic and shows emotion).
Cataclysm: The Black Death Visits Tuscany:
The art showed the painful torture in hell for the people who would sin (black death was believed to be a punishment)
The cities had a dramatic change after the disease
The black death killed so many people because they were already in a weaken state
The videos relate to the readings because it still connects the human body with art and shows how religion and art connects
The Florence film remind me of a museum i visited a lot back at home for school called the metropolitan museum. A very helpful thing for both videos is the segment already shows you what you would be learning
