• Moma's main purpose is that art of the present, the art of the now, modern was as worthy of peoples attention as the venerated art of the past
• Umland first showed a curatorially speaking "monographic gallery", meaning all the works installed are by a single artist
• MOma has been open about 90 years, considers Picasso to being a key artist for them from the start
• Umland believes keeping an open mind and being perfectionist are some key aspects to being a curator

• Lowbrow being: a person regarded as uncultivated and lacking in taste
• Robert Williams originated the term in 1979
• Lowbrow art is reactionary towards the highbrow attitude , pretentious upper echelons would have in the art world
• Curators dont take lowbrow art seriously 
• Lowbrow is based on imagery like random objects and nude women
